Tottenham Hotspur - The Double Winners 1961

Retro Football Shirts - Tottenham Retro

Perhaps the most iconic of all retro football shirts, this is of course the Tottenham Double Winners shirt from 1961. Winning the double for the first time that century was a remarkable achievement and was masterminded by the late great Bill Nicholson (1919-2004).

The Spurs team who did the double were as entertaining as they were successful and they set a new standard for all teams to aspire to since. These classic football shirts are certainly ones to wear with pride, plus the fact that this early 60's shirt just looks really cool.

Liverpool - The European Cup Winners 1977

Classic Football Shirts - Liverpool Retro

The 1977 European Cup Final took place between Liverpool F.C. and Borussia Mönchengladbach, at the Stadio Olimpico, in Rome, on May 25th.

Liverpool, under the management of Bob Paisley, won the match 3–1 to win their first ever European Cup. It followed on from their UEFA Cup the previous year.

Who can forget the smiling Emlyn Hughes lifting the cup aloft wearing this vintage football shirt. Now you too can wear this classic football shirt with pride.

Celtic - The European Cup Winners 1967

Retro Football Shirts - Celtic Retro

The 1967 European Cup Final was contested by Inter Milan and Celtic, at the Estádio Nacional in Lisbon, Portugal, on the 25th May.

Celtic won the game 2-1 and in doing so became the first British club to win the trophy, a year before Manchester United did so.

Managed by the legend that was Jock Stein, all the members of the team were born within 30 miles of Glasgow. They became known as the Lisbon Lions, because of their remarkable feat in the Portuguese capital.

Manchester Utd - The European Cup Winners 1968

Vintage Football Shirts - Manchester United Retro
Yes, it is blue. Not a colour you would normally associate with Manchester Utd and yet this is the one and only 1968 European Cup Winning shirt as worn by the likes of George Best, Sir Bobby Charlton and little Nobby Stiles.

The final of the 13th European Cup was played at Wembley Stadium, where United beat Benfica 4–1, in an epic game.

It was fitting perhaps that ten years after the Munich air disaster had robbed the Busby Babes of the chance to compete for that very same trophy, Manchester United became the first English 'Champions of Europe'.

There are many other great retro football shirts to choose from, so feel free to look around the site and pick up a memento from yesteryear!

Vintage England Football ShirtEngland Euro 1996 Shirt

By far the most exciting European Championships for England was on home soil in the guise of Euro 96. A superb side, which included the strike partnership of Shearer and Sheringham up front got us to the semi-finals, which we of course lost on penalties to Germany, just as we had done six years before.

However, England’s great run in the competition did include a 4-1 thrashing of highly fancied Holland that was dubbed “Total Football” by many pundits.

This England retro football shirts commemorate the competition and in particular Shearer and the thirty goals he scored in his 63 caps playing for his country. This really is an awesome looking retro England shirt.

Nevertheless, for those that remember the day, this was the proudest achievement of any England football team, barring out 1966 heroes, and these are vintage England football shirts that you can wear with pride!

The England 1990 Gazza shirt comes pre-numbered with a number 19, as worn by Paul Gascoigne in the 1990 World Cup final and is a must have England retro football shirt for any fan of that generation.

Gordon Banks is considered by many to be the greatest ever English keeper. In fact, in a poll carried out by the International Federation of Football History & Statistics (IFFHS), Banks was voted in as the second best goalkeeper of the 20th Century, behind Lev Yashin in 1st Place and in front of Dino Zoff in 3rd.

Such was Banks prowess between the sticks that a popular phrase in the English language was slightly changed in his honour to “Safe as the Banks of England.”

Johan Cruyff was the star in the “Total Football” Holland side, in the seventies. Although a striker, he felt equally at home in midfield or on the wings, where he would inevitably perform an amazing piece of skill that became commonly known as the “Cruyff Turn”.

Cruyff began his club career at Ajax, but having been voted European Player of the year for the 2nd time in 1973, he moved to Barcelona for what was then a world record fee of £922,300. At this time, he was considered by many to be the best player in the world.

Towards the end of his career, after turning his back on Europe, Cruyff was expected to join the New York Cosmos, as had many other high profile names. Instead, he signed for the LA Aztecs.

However, Cruyff did in fact make two appearances as a guest player in the Cosmos side and this is the shirt he wore in the Giants Statium, in 1978.

However, our personal favourite is the the Dutch football shirt from the seventies, which will forever be synonymous with the legend that is Johan Cruyff.
