These Man United retro shirts are in a colour you would not normally associate with Manchester Utd, which is ironic as the 1968 European Cup Winning shirt commemorates the club’s greatest hour.

This Man Utd retro shirt was worn by Sir Bobby Charlton, Nobby Stiles, Brian Kidd and golden boy George Best, who won the European Player of the year partly on the back of his cup winning display in this match.

Born in Belfast on the 22 May, 1946, George Best was one of the greatest talents to ever play the game of Football.

These retro Man Utd shirt, with the words “BEST” and the number 7 on the back, are a great way to remember football’s first superstar.

This 1978 Man Utd retro shirt was actually the Centenary shirt and was a style worn by the United players throughout the late 1970′s, including the ’76, ’77 and 1979 FA Cup Finals.

These Man Utd retro football shirts are classic red with three white stripes on the collar and the sleeves.

This was the Celtic retro shirt as worn by Jimmy Johnstone, who wore number 7 for Celtic, and scored over 100 goals for Celtic.

Johnstone was also a member of their Lisbon Lions, who were the first British side to win the European Cup, when they beat Inter Milan, in 1967.

Please note that the text on the embroidery of these Celtic football shirts reads EUROPEAN CUP FINAL LISBON 1967.

This classic Celtic FC shirt is a great looking away shirt from the 1950′s, which the team wore in 1957 when they thrashed Rangers 7-1 in the Scottish League Cup Final.

One newspaper wrote the following about this emphatic victory:

“Celtic, at Hampden Park, celebrated their first clash with Rangers in the Scottish League Cup Final, by giving a wonderful exhibition of football which lead to the beating of the Scottish League champions by seven goals to one.”

Retro Arsenal Football Shirts – Below we look at a selection of Arsenal retro shirts to cheer on the Gunners in this coming season:

Arsenal 1971 Double Winners Shirt

The 1971 FA Cup Final between Arsenal and Liverpool ended 2–1 to the Gunners, after extra time, with Charlie George scoring a dramatic winner. It was the second half of a league and FA Cup double, the second double of the century, following their North London rivals, Tottenham Hotspur’s double, in 1961.

This is a great looking Arsenal football shirt, in the away colours of yellow and blue. These retro Arsenal shirts look really cool with a pair of jeans.

Click the image for a look at the Arsenal 1971 Double Winners shirt

These Arsenal retro shirts, made from knitted cotton jersey, are more in the style you would expect from a classic Arsenal football shirt.

The retro Arsenal football shirts are in the famous red chest and white sleeves colours.

Please note that the v-neck of these retro Arsenal shirts was later replaced by a red round neck shirt with white arms.

Click the image for a look at the Arsenal 1970′s long sleeve shirt

These Arsenal retro shirts were made famous by Michael Thomas (wearing the number 4) when he scored in the 89th minute at Anfield, to help Arsenal win by 2 clear goals, the exact amount needed to win the league.

Tottenham Hotspur – The Double Winners 1961

Perhaps the most iconic of all Spurs retro football shirts, this is of course the Tottenham Double Winners shirt from 1961.

Winning the double for the first time that century was a remarkable achievement and was masterminded by the late great Bill Nicholson (1919-2004).

The Spurs team who did the double were as entertaining as they were successful and they set a new standard for all teams to aspire to since.

These classic football shirts are certainly ones to wear with pride, plus the fact that this early 60′s shirt just looks really cool.

Cup Final, where Tottenham finally beat Second Division club QPR 1–0 in a replay at Wembley.

However, the Spurs retro shirt was not worn by Ricky Villa, who scored that memorable goal in the previous cup final, because he was not allowed to pay due to the ongoing Falklands War.

The lillywhite shirt with the famous cockerel crest is of course known for that dribble and goal by Ricky Villa.
